Assignment: Escape (1) River of Shame and (2) the Altar of Guilt

Vintage Map of Demon Spotting 2nd Heaven Building and Rivers

Today’s assignment: Setting the frame for the game of Demon Spotting. Your assignment is to locate places on the (fictional) Demon Spotting Second Heaven map of the territory known as Brayswell Bend. Recognize where you are, and where you need to be instead.

A Demon Spotting podcast featuring two AI voices comparing and contrasting the Altar of Guilt with the Altar of Rest.

The game of Demon Spotting starts here.
Position: Dark Side. You are trapped. And you’re not even struggling to get free yet.
Remedy: Light Side. Help is on the way. Contact your Cornerman Angels and Team Trinity for instructions.

Demon Spotting, as a game, is played in your mind. Because that’s where the trauma lives.

These are the three locations on the Dark Side of the Demon Spotting Second Heaven map of the territory known as Brayswell Bend.

  1. The Library:
    • This building serves as a legal foothold where the enemy has unquestioned permission to talk to you. In your mind, with your consent, you meet with demons and tell them all your problems and concerns.
    • Your consent keeps you chained to the Altar of Guilt.
    • There’s no permanent escape from the Library. Generational curses provide endless cases for Satan to file against you. If you’re still alive, the battle rages on.
  2. The River of Shame:
    • The drift-state. Unaware that you are trapped. Striving to solve problems and carrying too many burdens. You are alone.
  3. The Altar of Guilt:
    • Every altar needs a human attendant (you). Generational curses and your unforgiveness keep you chained to this altar.
    • Your bitterness and unforgiveness create a continuous sacrifice that powers the altar.
    • The altar is a place of exchange. The supervising spirit of the altar rewards, but also punishes when you don’t deliver. Or sometimes, even if you do deliver what he asked for — he still punishes you.
    • That spirit (a demon) builds cases against you. You’ve told it all your secrets, after all.
    • You are trapped. This is what Hell feels like while you’re still alive.

These are the three locations on the Light Side of the Demon Spotting Second Heaven map of the territory known as Brayswell Bend: Brayswell HQ, River of Grace and the Altar of Rest.

Brayswell HQ serves as Third Heaven’s bastion (or castle) in the Second Heaven territory known as Brayswell Bend.

Because Brayswell HQ is Third Heaven space, everyone behaves themselves here. Demons in the audience have zero power while they are in the building. As long as they are invited in, no harm comes to them. Competitors are given limits on the power they can use whilst singing, dancing, or fighting.

Demons respect the power and authority of Brayswell HQ. But that doesn’t mean they don’t make snarky comments or have brush-ups with the good guys.

The following important spaces for the game are housed inside the Brayswell HQ building:

A warrior angel singer vs an intimidating demon with a single mic on stage in the Hall. He's singing about your life right now, Demon Spotter!
Brayswell Hall: A warrior angel singer in a battle round vs an intimidating demon with a single mic on stage in the Hall. He’s singing about your life right now, Demon Spotter!
  1. The War Room (Club House):
    • Affectionately called the Club House by Angel Cornermen September and DramaGuru. They meet here with their human to help them prepare for their COH case.
    • Along the way, they also coach their fighter on how to use the Demon Spotting code words to escape from traps and live with more freedom. This is a safe space to learn and practice your spiritual warfare techniques.
  2. The Hall: For singing and dancing battle rounds.
    • When Satan proves he has a legal right to move your case forward to the Courts of Heaven (COH), your Cornerman angels help you prepare your defending testimony, weighing your merits alongside your vices.
    • Round 1: They create a song about you. Angels sing to defend you in the first battle round. On the opposite side, your opponents create one to show you in your worst light.
    • Round 2: Your story is converted to dance, with changes made to adjust for weak areas in your defense.
    • Both sides battle to prove their view of you is the correct one.
  3. The MMA Arena: For mixed martial arts battle rounds.
    • Round 3: When the score is tied, an MMA battle inside a 12-sided cage (a dodecagon) takes place between two warrior angels chosen by each side to represent you.
    • This is a key decision tied to your cornerman angels’ assessment of you and their chance of winning the case.
    • Your team has a limited number of benefits, meaning weapons and fighter choices, to award you. Using a benefit for you means someone else can’t have it.
    • Their angel fighters also can’t fight twice in the same day. They make their selections with an eye to the available fighters on the other team.
    • Having a strong working relationship with your cornermen bodes well for you. Otherwise, who knows who — or what — you might end up with fighting for you.

4. The Chop Shop:

  • Formerly known as Brayswell Medical Suite, the Angel of Death is the Administrator here.
  • Post-fight, once the Courts of Heaven render their verdict on your case, medical (or physical body) consequences or benefits are administered here.
  • Listen to your cornermen angels. Respect their advice by doing the work… so that you don’t end up on the wrong side of the room.

  • You’ve awakened from your dream-state. You still have issues, but now you are under Grace with help from above.
  • Team Trinity includes your Heavenly Father (as a COH judge), Jesus the Advocate (reviews your case), Holy Spirit (guidance), and your cornerman angels for game planning and fight prep.
  • At this altar, which also requires a human attendant, you receive help directly from above. Freedom exists because the Altar of Guilt no longer blocks you.
  • Each case you close successfully grants you more territory in what’s called Neutral Space. This is your golden ticket to having continued access to Team Trinity.
  • Sacrifices are still required by order of the supervising spirit of this altar. To free you from traps that you’ve fallen into Holy Spirit decides what needs to change. He provides rewards, but he can’t cancel self-inflicted punishments.
  • We live in a fallen world, where things end, get taken away, and multiple tests are rendered. Veer away from the River of Grace, and you head straight back to the River of Shame. Don’t worry! In time, an angel will be sent to retrieve you.

In the spiritual warfare game of Demon Spotting, a demon’s assignment is to invade a human’s mind and commit them to bondage for life.

Cheryl Gwyneth Ragsdale
Creator of Demon Spotting

From the Second Heaven, demons invade our minds without our consent. For triple bonus points from Satan, demons entrap future generations.

Well, at least at first, it’s without consent.

Over time, their “friendly” advances cause you to take your guard down. They hang around and comfort you during difficult times.

But their comforting comes with a cost — to be paid in full at some later date.

When they come in all soft and oozy, you’re in trouble. You’re letting your guard down, and the wrong doors are opening.

This dynamic is what drove me to create Demon Spotting. I needed a way to declutter my mind from constant demonic assaults.

Now, when those demons hit hard, I know what I need to do to fight back.

Currently, I’m enrolled in Katie Souza’s year-long program called Victory Unveiled Mentorship.

On a recent training video featuring Pastor Darren Stott as a guest (5 May 2026), Katie said something that helped me to understand how my framework fits into the Courts of Heaven conversation fostered by Robert Henderson, Dr. Francis Myles, and Katie Souza.

Your mind is where the daily slights, annoyances, and abandonment live in memory. This is the place we need to keep clean, free of demonic torment, and available to hear instruction (plus receive connection) from the Holy Trinity: Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Generally speaking, most people don’t know how to protect their minds from demonic interference. Blocking a demon from interfering with you is important whether you’re awake or asleep. Satan has at least one witching hour from 3AM to 4AM every night.

Demon Spotting is designed to train you to heal your trauma by identifying patterns and choosing new ways to respond.

I want to address the trauma. You know I’ve taught you how to get healed of trauma. We’ll address that in prayer too.
Throughout the battle, make sure you’re being watchful over your soul. Keep yourself free of trauma. Otherwise, you’re always going to have that legal landing strip [foothold] for the enemy to keep on assaulting you.

Then, on the same training video, Darren Stott added another element that supports my creation of code words to establish patterns of behavior that I can recognize quickly when something strange or upsetting is happening.

On the subject of recording your dreams so that you don’t forget what you dreamed: Darren gave two examples of men who (1) categorized information-gathering and (2) and another who kept track of the messages he received from God. One man saw messages in road signs and license plates. Don’t laugh! God has a private language filled with symbols only you understand too — if you’re willing to listen.

Another man explained that he had met George Carlin, a comedian, on an airplane. He was intrigued by George’s creativity and asked him how he came up with his material. George said that he kept a record on his laptop of conversations that he had with people that he considered funny or ironic.

“Language turns into the battleground — and comedy stops being polite.” (1972)

Basically, I did the same organizing and collating with Demon Spotting. First, I listened to myself and others complain, tell stories about their lives, and update me on the latest nonsense happening to them at work or in relationships. After exhausting that well of detail, I moved on to published stories. I tested my code words against a variety of situations. The patterns revealed themselves again.

My code words worked!

Next, I decided to build case studies as training material using the code words.

The supernatural world is more active than at any point in modern history —
and most people have no framework to navigate it.
