I heard them before I saw them. A group of bikers gathered together in front of a restaurant, waiting for their take-out lunches. They hugged! Wow! I laughed at my reaction. Social distance!
After only one month into worldwide social distancing. some people observed the rules and practiced them. While others, who didn’t believe that Covid-19 was a real thing, just didn’t bother.

With Reckless Abandon
As a pattern of behavior, it’s much easier to disregard the rules, when you trust and rely on a firm structure of support (safety nets) being available to protect you, if or when, things go wrong.
- You know you can count on the Emergency Room because the people who work there are willing to follow all the rules and practice precautions.
- Your parents will take care of you if you get sick and can’t go to work. Even though rules are in place to keep you well. Social distance, please!
With Fierce Determination
No mask. Standing close. Looking cool comes with a price. You might get away with it. Or you might pass the infection to a new group of people.

At this point in time, the world is doing the best it can, with the knowledge available. It’s your choice. Play the Covid-19 game by the rules or act like “nothing happened”.
What’s your social distance plan? Ignore it or enforce it?

Social Distance 101: Thank you to Crissy who shared her selfies with me. She created the black #socialdistance t-shirt she is wearing.

The game I call Demon Spotting developed over time as I worked through emotional entanglements and confusing break-ups. My misery became code words. Code words became mat drills. Mat drills became winning combinations. And my confusion lifted. Consider this your invitation to play. Clarity is freedom.
