Dog Sitting Sword

The restrictions and lock downs continue. My mind is wandering back to life before Covid-19. Of course, some changes will stick once we can leave the house without fear of infection again. And we’ll describe life by dividing time as before and after this worldwide event.

One thing is certain. We’ll be better prepared for the next pandemic. For a start, I plan to never, ever run out of toilet paper.

But are we prepared for a planetary catastrophe of an even greater magnitude?

Thinking about that makes my head hurt. And my Doomsday Clock tick faster. To slow things down, I’m revisiting a happy memory.

To reflect what it’s like to spend all day with people and pets for several days in a row (but not on vacation together), here’s a cartoon I created back in July 2017, nearly three years ago.

Opportunity or Aggravation? Maybe Both.

With “stay-at-home” orders in place, families are spending time together, stuck in the house with no where to go. Board games are making a comeback and people are looking for ways to connect face-to-face, without getting on each other’s nerves.

Practice makes perfect.

Some good things are happening. And some bad things are getting worse.

  • How are you coping with being stuck at home?
  • What surprises have been revealed?
  • What happened as a result of spending more time together doing schoolwork, etc.?
  • What was good about it?
  • Important question: Can you get to neutral at home by yourself or with other people present?
  • As a result, do you feel more connected or less connected?

“This too shall pass.”
