Pivot Person

A person who may or may not be involved with the fight or situation. This person reveals facts to clarify points of view, as in, “The emperor has no clothes! Stop pretending to see something that isn’t there.” The witness who comes forward. The person who creates a shift to clarify and adjust how people respond. Often, a pivot person is needed to escape emotional, verbal or physical abuse.
